Having had two daughters who both requested fairy parties on their 4th birthdays I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of replicating the theme differently the second time round. What I didn’t do differently was change the concepts and ideas. A fairy is a fairy, especially when she’s 4 …. She needs a fabulous ethereal outfit ….. Always.
FAIRY COSTUME #1 was constructed out of raw strips of muslin which was knotted onto a piece of thick elastic. It was almost like a long skirt but was actuallyworn as a strapless dress.
The muslin wings I had in mind required sewing skills ….. The ones I don’t have. So, here I enlisted the help of my talented friend Helene Chassay to help bring them to life.
I was fortunate to find the most perfect flat, sparkly and lightweight butterfly which I hot glued onto elastic and turned into an incredible head piece.
